20 Replies to “What My Prayers Sound Like”

  1. I listen to each and every one – through the Pocket Cast app. As a result, I almost never come here to comment… oh, yeah, the point! I don’t just listen, I enjoy all of them. Thank you!

    1. Hi Bob see now I’d never have known .. yer new to comments thanks for taking a minute.. means a lot to me.. I can’t tell who’s listening on this podcast.. it could be the same one guy listening a dozen times LOL thanks for the encouragment that I’m not just talkin to myself !

  2. This one is what hooked me on the podcast at first. Quick, to the point (sort of-ha) a little irreverent, funny and like s looking in a mirror. For a minute there I thought you’d recorded me. Thanks Bryan…keep ‘em coming!

  3. Wow…This nutshell sounds like me..I thought I was the only one like that.I go to the Tuesday 6am early morning prayer service at my church..sometimes I think why?Am I doing anything here? But I think about what Jesus said about being in the mist and touching and agreeing..So maybe I am doing something

  4. Someone once told me that you can have all the bible knowledge in the world, but it means absolutely nothing if you can’t communicate with God. I think that’s one of the most important pieces of advice I’ve ever received. Doesn’t make it easier, but sure helps me keep focused. What about the apostles. Yes hua was at his must intense moment before he was taken away, and they couldn’t even stay awake to pray.. food for thought….

  5. Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don’t.

I resemble your remarks but I’m not offended since maybe I have a somewhat warped perspective about churchy things just like you.

Maybe I’m just a lonely man in the middle of something that he really doesn’t understand.

But love takes time so please be kind.

    Things are gonna change …
If you’d write some songs along those lines , they’d surely be my favourites and a great comfort eh.

    Jusqu’à la prochaine fois,

  6. Kinda scary how much this sounds like my prayers…I’m glad I’m not God trying to keep everything straight..lol…I’ve made several prayer journals along the way…problem is, I spend too much time wondering if I am using the journal correctly …anyway, you did have me laughing…

  7. Hey Bryan… I’ve been absent for a bit, did you miss me? Yeah, OK… you didn’t even notice, it’s fine. 🙂 But oh my word, I come back right to the one you wrote about me!! I don’t know if I should be impressed or offended!

  8. My Looney Tuned BiC, surely I shoulda shared this sooner.

    Jesus’s guidelines for prayer
“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites. They love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners and pray so people will see them… When you pray, you should go into your room and close the door and pray to your Father who cannot be seen.”
“And when you pray, don’t be like those people who don’t know God. They continue saying things that mean nothing, thinking that God will hear them because of their many words…”
“So when you pray, you should pray like this:
’Our Father in heaven,
may your name always be kept holy.
May your kingdom come
and what you want be done,
here on earth as it is in heaven.”
“Give us the food we need for each day.
Forgive us our sins,
just as we have forgiven those who sinned against us.
And do not cause us to be tempted,
But save us from the Evil One.”
              (Matthew 6:5-13)
