  1. That’s a great story Bryan!
    I think I.
Told you my albums were stolen by the moving company, i think it was ‘Breaking the Ice’ that was signed by everybody but you. I need to see if you can get those albums on Cd.s …
I remember how sitting for Rick when you guys went on tour.
    Ah, the good ol’ days.

    1. Hi Linda I remember talkin about this.. those early SCB projects are out of print.. its a game for collectors now.. I don’t have hard copy CD or cassettes of this stuff at it over 40 years old.. I do have downloads of a lot of the songs but hard to sign a download. If you find hard copies.. I’ll sign em and return em in the mail

  2. Love these stories. Reminds the younger music artists that you don’t start at the top haha.
It’s really bad that the record companies don’t pay artists like they should. That is why some start out doing social media videos etc to get their followers first haha.
Also sad to have to pay radio to play music which is why they are in business haha

  3. Wow I’d heard that Maranatha wasn’t good to SCB but I thought it was just In concert …what a shame cause you guys had a signature style back then, something new and clean that hadn’t been done…I love those songs. .sort of reminds me of the Beach Boys to Rock…

  4. These songs in my opinion identify the 70s Southern California sounds…therefore you are a legend of CCM before it wa a genre…and more of a soft rock before it was a genre…I’m so happy Bryan that you stood your ground over being lead cause you ❤️ were the cornerstone of the group!

  5. Bryan,

Thank you for your songs, I used to travel all over the country in the 90s, up to 2010. I would play your music over and over again on long driving trips, I was in medical sales.

But my real passion was children’s ministry, so my wife and I would do children’s pastoring on weekends in a small Pentecostal church.

I still remember back in the late 70s seeing you at agape concerts, in Sweet comfort band, my favorite song, contender.

My wife, Melody, and I met you a couple times on a couple cruises that featured you and Bob Carlisle.

I don’t like to be too spiritual, but I would feel the presence of God when I listen to your music, He would fill the room that I was in, Or car.

I don’t listen to many podcast, but I’m trying to understand all of it cause I wanna listen to yours.

As soon as I figure it out, I will support your ministry.

Please know that your music to this day is still bringing the presence of God into people’s lives.

I consider you my lunatic friend.

    God bless you

    Joe Siddle

    1. Hi Joe.. Me too.. tryin to figure stuff out and always behind a more recent upgrade! you can always click the blue link where ever I post; FB. X, IG, YT, TicToc… or type nutshellsermons.com into yer search bar.
I post “jesus n Music’ like this one. but also two minute nutshell sermons, prayers you won’t hear in church, and songs that didn’t get airplay! you’ll see the heading across the home page! Thanks for commenting.

  6. What a joy it is to hear your podcasts Bryan. In my early days of discovering Jesus music, SCB was on the top of my list. I would attend your concerts whenever you were in the SF Bay Area. I even recall helping your roadies load up the trailer after a church concert. My buddies and I saw your Disney concert if I recall correctly, when you were playing at the Tomorrowland stage that rose up to ground level. Oh those were the days. I still have a number of the SCB vinyl discs except for your first release which I could only find on cassette. I still enjoy all of those SCB music -and the horns!- and yes your individual cuts as well. Boy do I sound like one old dude fanatic?

  7. I really enjoy these stories Bryan. The music industry sounds like it is difficult to make it in. I am so glad you stuck it out. There are many of your songs that are favorites in my family. God bless you sir! If you ever get to visit Omaha it would be a pleasure to meet you again.

  8. Hi Brian, I want to tell you how much the music of Sweet Comfort Band, and your songs in particular, meant to me when I first became a Christian! Growing up, I loved the music of Chicago, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind & Fire, etc. At that time (late ’70’s), there was VERY LITTLE of this style in Christian music, and I was a little discouraged! Then a friend introduced me to SCB and it literally changed my life! You guys gave me hope that there were other followers of Christ that loved the same kind of music that I did! After college, I sang every day on a nationally televised Christian television program called PTL (but please don’t hold that against me : ), while continuing to write songs. My songs, like yours reflect my love for Jesus, and written in the musical style that I love! Would you be willing to listen to one and give me your honest opinion? I recorded this tune in my home studio a few years agon and programmed the tracks. It even has a nice Kim Hutchcroft style sax solo in it. I know you’re busy, Brian, but if you have time, I would really love your opinion. God bless you, brother!
