    1. Hey Guy don’t think I’ve been back to yer neighborhood since we met back in the day but I’m finding a lot of “Regrowth” in my faith and the caregiving I’m doin for my wife!

  2. That is a lyric that circles back on me as well. Sweet Comfort was one of the very first Christian albums I ever owned and those songs are precious still! Thanks for writing and playing them!!

  3. SCB was a saving grace for me back in the day. So many lyrics that expressed what I couldn’t put words to. Now, having served in full time ministry for 40 years, these old lyrics still call me back to the simplicity of my relationship with Jesus. Thanks for sharing the genesis of such a grounding principle.

  4. Bryan,
Listening to your nutshell sermons I’ve come to feel connected to you brother. And now I know why. For completely different reasons I was alone a lot and felt like Jesus was my only friend. He’s always been there is the way I’ve described it to other people. Hit me up on Facebook messenger or my email if you want the whole story. We have chatted there before. Robert Haggy in NC

  5. These are memories I like best from you. I love your story of being a teen and transferred from place to place…it’s a lonely life if you don’t have someone to lean on…like your dad…and of course Jesus! You had those 2 on your side looking out for you…the best Jesus gave you the guitar and the will to play along with the people in the band and in church…Your testimony is so great Bryan cause you didn’t get saved from anything, just believed in Jesus. You’re indeed a legend!

  6. Just discovered your podcasts. Have enjoyed your music for a long time (since late 80s). Love your unique sound and fidelity to the Word.

  7. Greg Laurie, huh? I went to Calvary Chapel with Pastor Chuck and Pastor Greg when we were in the big tent. I met Pastor Greg again at NBPD when I worked there many years later. Small world!

  8. After listening to this nutshell sermon, I was reminded of a song. When I was growing up, my parents were both singers who often sang in church and for other occasions. My dad was a choir & band director and my mother played piano and organ. Many times they sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone” from the musical, “Carousel”, as a duet. A cherished memory of mine. Can’t wait to hear the SCB upgrade of “When I Was Alone”.

  9. Brian, I love this song and can relate to it and your story very much.
Thank you for sharing. I’m looking fwd to hearing the new version.

  10. Gotta admit – you make the “back row “ the place to be … thanks man – keep it up and YOU are never dismissed

  11. B, 2 of the best lines for lyrics ever! Sometimes saying so little(in terms of using less verbiage) can say so much. It all depends on what is being said. You have that gift of putting what you feel to music that resonates deep to the ears that hear it! Keep making it do what it do B !

  12. Hey Bryan, I’m a longtime fan…Found Remember My Mother on YouTube this morning and it brought me to tears… Amazing to hear you guys sing on your most recent YouTube videos… just disappointed I missed the live performance in Irvine last year. You still got it, my friend: The voice, the wit, the authenticity…You are the real deal! Love the podcasts!
Hope to see you guys soon

  13. This song just… idk man, brings me to that place! I love getting to hear how your songs came to be.
