  1. I think it’s so cool to hear about the musicians who played at the beginning of CCM. The person who persuaded you to move to California was right on the money cause it’s such a rich calling for you Bryan. Tha people you admired and met while in SCB laid the firm foundation for your solo days.. praise God for blessing this path of faith and praise.

  2. All my favorites from the radio.. I actually played dust in the wind in Okinawa Japan in a bar when I was in the military. I actually don’t believe in the separation between secular and religious music. Everything has a message. But that’s just me.

    1. I never did either.. in fact when they gave Jesus music n my stuff the name CCM it might as well have been a warning label if you were reaching outside of church

  3. I remember listening to Sweet Comfort at a Christian music festival in Nor Cal and Dino was running the live mix. Chatted a lot about his production choices on your album and Kansas. I miss the days of Christian Rock. My band opened a show for Allies and I met Randy. Sweet Comfort was one of my favorite CCM bands along with Degarmo &Key and Petra.

  4. I bought the Miracles out of nowhere years ago and have watched it multiple times. the story you shared is on this DVD and is awesome. They also mention giving away their publishing right. Great stories! keep them coming!

    1. I didn’t know that story but then no one wants to admit the mistake of a poor contract.. but somebody else has to make money on ya.. or they don’t work for ya..
      Hi DC

  5. LET ME TELL YOU B, WHEN YOU BRING UP KANSAS TALKING BOUT MUSIC TO MY EARS BOY THAT A UNDERSTATEMENT TO ME ! THESE GUYS I WAS A KINDA LATE BLOOMER TO AS I WAS TO DAVID PACK . I KNEW I LIKE CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON AND DUST IN THE WIND BACK WHEN I WAS A TEEN BUT DIDN’T TAKE IT TO MUCH FURTHER THAN THAT . IT MANY YEARS LATER WHEN I ACTUALLY LISTEN TO KANSAS STUFF AND WAS SHOCKED AT THE GOODSTUFF I MISSED ! WITH PACK I ALWAYS LOVE THOSE HIT SONGS I JUST DIDN’T KNOW WHO SANG THEM. IT WAS LISTENING TO KASEY KASUM TO 40 NIGHT TIMES SHOWS INTRODUCED ME TO A WHOLE WORLD OF OTHER GREAT MUSIC THAN WHAT I WAS LISTENING TO AT THE TIME ! WHEN I HEARD Bohemian Rhapsody I THOUGH THAT WAS THE FUNNIEST SONG BUT GOOD, NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE. KERRY LIVGREN IS A GENIUS AND I LOVE ALL HIS STUFF ! HE WRITES LIKE NO OTHER TO ME SOMETIMES I JUST READ HIS LYRICS AND JUST SHAKE MY HEAD AND SAY SO SIMPLE YET PROFOUND ! I KNOW YOU MUST HAVE BEEN TICKLED TO GET TO MEET AND TALK WITH SOME OF THE VERY ARTIS WHO MAY HAVE INSPIRED YOU IN SOME WAYS .

  6. Hi Bry! Linda Mattero here… Loved hearing these stories! I actually recorded Matt doing several Kansas songs.. gotta look for them on my laptop, but about 2 years give or take, before Matt died, he was trying to get in touch with Kerry Livgren.. Kerry had his own band at the time, but was recuperating from a serious health problem (not sure its my place to say what it was here.. you know HIPAA laws and all, or if its public knowledge anyway), so taking a break for abit. But Matt and Kerry’s manager were in touch alot, and the manager would forward Matt’s messages to Kerry, and give Matt Kerry’s responses.. I totally forgot about that until now! Gotta look around on the computer though… I think my fav Kansas song, although I loved them all, was ‘Pinnacle’!! The highs and lows of that one… wow! Absolutely loved Ambrosia too! So glad you were able to see both groups and meet all the members!! Cool! Im jealous lol!

    1. wow interesting about Matt’s story wasn’t aware of his connections or that he had a manager.. or that you couldn’t mention what someone died of frankly.. thanks for sharing.. we all die of something

  7. DON’T WORRY BOUT THAT B, YOU HAD ENOUGH OF THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS TO SERVE US UP SOME FANTASTIC MOUTH WATERING SONGS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND ALL OF THEM WERE FINGER LICKING GOOD ! MAN YOU ARE A MASTER CHEF KEEP BAKING THEM SWEET DELECTABLE SONGS MY BOY !
