  1. I love Oswald Chambers and have never read or heard his words of wisdom until you quoted from him. He puts Christianity to an understandable point that is just what nutshellsermons.com is. I recently decided to make Reading one of my new activities. I have a plentiful ebook library and I love this cause I don’t have to store books. As a matter of fact I was rereading Nutshells Prayers You Won’t Hear in Church when I wanted to check my email and found this! My place is marked to return to when I’m through. I would love to know which book ɓy Chambers you were quoting from. I agree completely and lots of times second guess one who gives me simple, down-to-earth advice…cause that’s what it is! Lol

    1. Hi Jane E.. I’ve never mentioned his book much its the most popular devotional ever written so I assumed peeps knew of it.. his devotional is “My Utmost For His Highest” by Oswald Chambers.. my quiet prayers project was a spin off of a compilation project by the same title My Utmost For His Highest

  2. I was once told that God gives us the tools we need to make it through life. What we do with them is our decision. The question would be, do we want him to be apart of the process? Just a thought. Too easy to blame God and the devil for our successes and failures. At what point is it our fault? Doctors get paid to find problems.

  3. Man B, second opinions I think is always in almost every case could be a good decision cause it’s you that will bare the repercussions of the decisions you make ! So ain’t nothing wrong in being thorough in exploring all options as long as it is base on backed up true irrefutable tested facts ! I kinda like sometimes it seems that Oswald C ask questions that make you think on something from a different vantage point ! I think it’s ok to look at things from different angles as long as you stay within the guardrails of objective Truth and reason. We always got to question is our way we are doing stuff the way he wants things to be done . More so than that is if we love the way we are doing things and they are not the way God wants things done will we be willing to change right away as quick as yesterday even ! A change of mind sometimes can be the best Second opinion we can make !

    1. Wow I like yer analogy right here.. must be a good pastor one that hasn’t gone off the rails! LOL that one’s free ROFL might have to use the More Jewel the Nut comment somehow if I can make it not sound like my own pat on the back!

    1. LOL Hi Rev D .. uuuuh I thought that was what this was… I have attention deficit so going ‘live’ scares the crap outta me… 5 seconds of dead air gives me a heart attack LOL I’ve also noticed that a lot of talk radio drives me nuts gettin to a POINT! LOL look like yer new on my comments page really appreciate your participation !

  4. You’re headline, Brother Bryan, is what God says to us when we have an idea from a sermon which there’s no conviction. I recently watched the biopic “Ragamuffin” on Rich Mullins‘ life and realized that we don’t always get what we want or deserve. Good thing too. Solomon should’ve stuck with one wife than be dragged through the muck. (My grandfather grew lettuce in it.) God Bless You and your family, pal! Lovin’ these Nutshell Sermons! Even I need conviction or comfort, except for Ray Comfort!
