  1. This is super great, strings are especially good. Your voice on this song more pleasant than some of your other songs. Very reverent.

    1. thanks.. I was really surprised that I could imagine the way an orchestra was sound on this arrangement. At the funeral last year I played an electric piano and it just didn’t fill the space well.

  2. I am so moved to tears over this rendition of this song I have heard so many times in my life. I have never heard the words like I heard them tonight. Wow, another “blow me away Brian” moment. Dang, you got me again.

After all these years, you are still moving people. Even me. Keep up the great work. DWM

    1. Good to hear that Heather.. as frenitic as my delivery has been on this podcast. I was nervous about putting up a Hymn on here but again these are songs that i’ve done in som form but never recorded

  4. Beautiful!
You know how the first recorded version of a song tends to be the way you remember that song and weigh every rendition thereafter against the recording in your head?
I was concerned when I saw the title. My first memory of this song was from a Christmas gift from my mom when I was 12. My first, very own, turntable and the BJ Thomas album, Amazing Grace. (My brother gave me Billy Joel’s Piano Man album, because brothers are cool like that.) Of all the hymns I know, In The Garden is the one I’ve played the most and sung the most in my life. It was the most requested lullaby of my girls (my boys preferred DeGarmo & Key). I recently sang it acapellla as an audition song. And I’ve owned not only that record album, but cassette and cd of BJ Thomas’ too.
If I could get the orchestra you imagine to back you up on this, I think it would replace BJ in my playlist and head.

    1. I never started singing old hymns until I was doing more funerals than weddings. I don’t see recording projects in the future.. music world has changed drastically. Quickly becoming a lost art form sadly
