  2. I LOVE SWEET COMFORT BAND. I no longer have a turn table or all of my vinyls…but, I think I had worn out the grooves! I’m so proud of who you allowed the Lord to mold you into. Your humor and your talents bring HIM joy…of this, I am sure. Keep running your race! Blessings!!

  3. Oh! And hearing you sing a snippet of “when I was alone……” brought tears to my eyes. That song landed in my heart and took good root. Thanks!!!

    1. my pastor quoted that lyric to me just last week and the song was written in 1974 .. he still remembered it for those reasons too.. it does hit you .. glad it does too! thanks Dar

  4. Hi Bryan, I’m so glad you are documenting all of these details here. Funny, interesting and even a little heartbreaking. So insightful, and gives me so much more to appreciate about you than I do already! You know… you are creating the beginnings of a best selling book! Please put me first on the waiting list!

  6. Great story. Sat night concerts were great at CCCM even in the 80’s whey I first started attending.

45.00 a month for your apartment! That was amazing enough but then God gave it to you for free for 4 years! Amazing divine intervention!

Love the stories, Bry! Keep it up!

  7. I’m sure you could come up with a very long list of “requirements” churches asked(demanded) over the years when you performed. I’m just curious why you sound so broke. I thought musicians make a lot of money…

    1. only the people selling gold records make money.. concerts in the early days were often offering gigs in church world and those were pathetic.. maybe I should share some o dat.. THANKS FOR adding your thoughts here too bet means alot Doug

  8. Wild music reverently!
Yuba City is where my husband lived for a few years before he moved to San Luis Obispo where we met. That’s where he saw you, I think, for the first time. He went to concerts all the time with his buddies.

  9. Still loving this journey through time that you’re taking us on. Hey, honestly Lovesong was a great break from the traditional hymns I was growing up on in the small town Pentecostal Church I was raised in, but it wasn’t until a family friend came up from Richmond to our Sonoma County town with a brand new vinyl album self titled Sweet Comfort Band that I finally had hope that I could really get into Christian music. I loved the diversity of style. I bought every album after that!

  10. This stuff is amazing! While I was growing up in a small midwestern town, you were part of a world I didn’t even know existed till now. Mind blown!!
