  1. I don’t know if you realize this or not, but you have helped direct me back closer to where I used to be with God through these podcasts. I really can’t thank you enough.
AND first response! Go me! Hahahahaha

    1. Really? wow I never thought I’d hear that.. but yea, I’ve had the sense that a lot of us who’ve been around church n Christian world, have felt ignored for a long time!
      thanks for sharing!

  2. You’re saying a lot of the same stuff I think and don’t say out loud. Envy is not pretty. I try to think of something everyday that I’m thankful for and grateful for. I sometimes look at what others have and wish I had those things. And then think of what God has given me and continues to give me. I’m still getting up every morning. I have grandkids. I have a great husband. Now if I could just get myself out more to get exercise or just get together with people, I might be a little healthier, too.

  3. You know that saying: “money don’t make you rich”. Yeah I get it, but a little bit wouldn’t hurt. LOL. OR:”Poor people are some of the happiest.” Hate those sayings. There’s a passage about going to a closet to pray.. I think there you can say all things you want without problem…

  4. Amen to…your time with God is gonna last longer than your 15 minutes of fame….good to remember that!

  5. Hey Bryan
I can relate to this one! A new friend in a Bible Study I’m in is rapper Jack Harlow’s AuntI had heard his name but had no idea he was a young man from who lives in my town who is making it big in the secular music business. At first I was battling envious thoughts as she was telling me about his fancy house, his many cars, and millions! But after looking him up on YouTube and seeing his excessive
use of the F-bomb and other sad stuff, I came back down to earth. As I did I was reminded of the promise that says ‘The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous’
Though I’m pretty certain our reward is much better than anything the wicked have!

  6. Lol. Seems like I used to feel like I had to make everything sound better than it was for the church people like it was a blessing competition? Then in Alanon I learned to be honest and turn everything I was powerless over to God. Funny now it looks like all those super blessed peeps in the world may have sold their soul for fortune and fame? I think George Carlin was right. There’s a club and I’m not in it. It’s ok I reckon. Still making it all the way to my Fathers house one day. One day at a time I choose the simple life. Love your rants. . We all concur! Lol

  7. LOL. I just love your honesty. I saw your comment about you aren’t going to look up those verses. Does anyone? Thanks again for making me laugh.

  8. Reminds me of a similar lesson God led me through- I was dating a guy in high school that didn’t know Jesus. We took a weekend trip to a Christian university I was thinking of going to. While there, we visited a friend’s church for a Sunday evening service. Came in late, sat in the balcony. Crazy thing, my boyfriend responded to the altar call and got “radically saved”. I mean, we followed him down there and laid hands on him along with the pastor to pray as he was weeping and repenting. All of a sudden, he looks up as if he were Stephen, seeing Jesus open the heavens, and says he feels the wind rushing through him. His body was shaking as if it truly was. The freedom and joy that followed in that guy was palpable. I was jealous. I never experienced anything like that. I just went to church and believed Jesus. Over the next few months, God dealt with my envious heart- finally pointed me to the older brother of the prodigal. As Isaac Air Freight put it, “Of course I love you, and all I have is yours. But today Little Joe’s returned!”
God’s justice just don’t seem right sometimes, yet I know He’d do the same for you & me. And in many ways, He already has.
