  1. The end of something is always tough. The end of something you love doing, even more so. I know when I left my family job of running a shoe store that I had been at for over 40 years of my life, at first it was intimidating, then it was the most freeing thing I have ever done to this day. Excited to hear about the single career next.

  2. Oh to be young and dumb in the music business. I think every band falls into this same predicament whether they are poor or rich they suddenly wake up to realize they are being exploited and bamboozled in one way or another. to be apart of a famous band such as SCB is a dream for most but us outsiders don’t bear the scars. thankfully they heal and looking back gives perspective. Fans are thankful for SCB

    1. Hey thanks DC for yer recollections! man I’ve been on the road and away from the ‘Grid’. which is a blessing singing again. But don’t think I don’t see yer comments on here. I’m loving the interaction with ya

  3. You know that saying: if I knew then what I know now?
Sometimes ignorance is bliss. You lived a dream.. when I was a child….. familiar lyric. God speed Bryan. On to the next chapter… maybe it’s time to get back out there . Wisdom of time can write a new lyric….

  4. I’ve often wondered how SCB would have done with backing like REZ/JPUSA or any of the Exit/Warehouse groups. There may have been a bit more longevity, but maybe not.
You remind me so much of Terry Scott Taylor in the sense that you wouldn’t do well with Christian overlords. That little sense of irreverence towards authority over what you feel you should do.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda……..Regardless, you’ve been an inspiration to me for YEARS!

    1. thanks for your comments!
I wasn’t aware that JPUSA had a lot of backing either.. they were downtown Chicago.. didn’t look like a lot of ‘Provision’. but then I’ve seen Money corrupt people too.. and I stop prayin when I can afford stuff! LOL

  5. I can not even imagine what your journey is like. I have been a fan of your music for many, many years. God is using you and I pray he continues to use you.

  6. RIchard Page called his career ” A Peculiar Life.” He did an album called the same and the plight of Mr Mister was quite tragic. It is apalling how musicians are taken advantage of by the industry and certainly the gospel music industry is no different. I really agree with your parting comments. No matter how dire things are, your Father has you in His hands. In the midst of mayhem and misery, it is hard to see this and takes much discipline to just trust him each day and follow that still small voice, from experience. Please keep trusting your Dad, Bryan, he wants to walk and talk with his son in the garden.

  7. That part at the end about trusting when we can’t see where we are going and believing that God has our backs, that hit home. Have to remind myself of that daily. It also helps to know that others are also reminding themselves too. Thanks.

  8. An absolute treasure trove, not just the history of Jesus music, CCM, etc. Pounded through all of the SCB and earlier stuff in the last couple of days, I see you’ve got shows about your solo career. Can’t wait to start those too!!! I’m just gonna say this…these songs, books, podcasts etc, impact me. My soul resonates with so much of your perspective. It’s not simply talent, it’s gifting. And God using you to speak life into so many of us. Life. Do you understand the eternal implications of that brother? I wish I could return the favor properly. Maybe someday. But for now, thank you, thank you.

    1. WOW .. thanks .. you don’t see how yer returning the favor? yer listening, and commenting and that gives me encouragement to keep going. its always felt to me like my christian background was such a minority I’d have to explain everything. So thanks for listening

  9. Love the music and hearing your journal through your career…it sounds like COVID was a giant catalyst for change everywhere…our generation has had more than one career…just because we were shaken really hard the glass didn’t break and none of that blessed salt was wasted!
