The old swear jar turned into a sparkletts bottle for me. Ive had a lot of growing since I became a believer!
Nice add.. I coulda used that comment on FB
I’ll never forget the time my little family was the last to leave our church on a Sunday morning, right before the Pastor locked the building. I told my young son, he was probably 5 or 6 at the time, to get his coat and put it on. We finished cleaning the children’s church room when I heard my son yell out in the hall, “Where’s my damn coat?!?
My wife and I both were shocked, and quickly tried to get him and his coat out of the building before the Pastor said anything.
All we could figure was he’d been staying at his grandparents house, and grandpa was a cussed. He didn’t hear it from us, that’s for sure.
fun story.. I had to answer to my kids school teacher once.. and take responsibility for they prolly heard me say! LOL
Cuss words hurt me to the core.
My dad never said a word when I was growing up.. but he’s the only one I never heard use colorful language. sure like to know why it is more than a little greiving to you.. I always took it pretty lightly.
My Mom used to say of my Dad, ” Everett wouldn’t say s*#*# if he had a mouthful.” Well, he was a Baptist deacon, so what would one expect? Oh, by the way, I “swore” off bein’ a Baptist 40 years ago. Then I switched to Pentecostal and became a bona-fide Lunatic Friend …..lol! Lovin’ yer sermons Bryan D.!
LOL.. I’m a pragmatic fundamentalist now… I physically can’t meet the requirements for the service at Pentecostal Church LOL
My golf language
“Sucks” and “crap” I forgot those were questionable words. But back then I thought….better than actual cursing right?
This idls another good one. I cursed today and it troubled me. I get frustrated and really angry…it might come out. I don’t like that….
Hey Lookie here.. yer comment made the app! congrats… you must be proud! LOL
When I was in the military my vocabulary began to include all kinds of colorful commentary. Then there was the concept of not socially unacceptable. Who decided that?.. Now that I know a foreign language, I know even more. A nick name for David is Dudu. Took awhile to get past that and a few others. Maybe geographic location counts???
LOL.. I think Do… do.. constant effort where performance is not necessary
too funny I mentioned Christian cuss words to ya in your last sermon. hadn’t heard this one yet as I am behind so I guess great minds think alike or I am a bit of a lunatic(wife will agree to that). I did look up the origins of that alternative sex verb- the dreaded F bomb once upon a time as words do come and go. I do favor dagnabit, son of a biscuit or son of a Baptist preacher if I must say them out loud.what goes on in my head thankfully gets filter most of the time. as you mentioned some words just are more descriptive.
Hey Doug .. thanks for the feedback appreciate you
I know of someone who gets so offended to hear cuss words, no matter said in jest or flippantly, but has no problem watching reality tv where those words are used in vitriol and hate, but are bleeped out. So I guess that’s fine.
