  1. Yup! There are some pages that I used to wish could be accidentally-on-purpose ripped out so that my life would be easier. Learned that ease did not equate to joy. Joy came from allowing the vineyard to cultivate fine fruit.

  2. Apparently Thomas Jefferson, the 3rd American president, tried to “fix” the Scriptures. Jefferson, the same guy that wrote parts of the US Declaration of Independence, like “all men are created equal” and are “endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights”, took the liberty of editing the Gospels by cutting them up with a sharp knife to remove the problematic parts. But, as you have pointed out, we all kind of do that. We have our favorite verses. And then there are other parts we ignore.

Thanks my LF, for putting into words these prayers we’re never gonna hear in church. It’s sweet comfort to know that there’s company on the back benches.

  3. Seems to me personally that those couple of sins we want to keep may be our undoing. Then there’s that verse about getting rid of demons only opening up for seven new ones. Or something like that. Might apply to sin. Clean one up to make room for a new one. James is a good book to read over and over. Faith and works what a balance….

  4. I wasn’t really going to share this yet until I knew something was diagnosed. I’m waiting on an appointment to have a consult with a pulmonologist. There was a spot found on my lung and they want me to get in as soon as I can. But there are no appointments available till the end of May. I also have an appointment with a cardiothoracic surgeon to also consult with.
You know that verse where it says “be anxious for nothing?” Last night my Bible study ladies and I decided that was the hardest verse to follow. We’re always anxious about something and we don’t need to be. The only reason I feel anxious is because I don’t know what’s going on. God does and I should just trust that. But yes, it’s very hard to read some verses and actually put them into practice. I suppose I should read the rest of the verse, “but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” I’m even wearing a ring that has Philippians 4:7 on it. As I said in another comment, oh, we humans.
    Thanks for listening.

    1. I’m with ya Robbin.. anxiety is nothing new to any of us .. thats why they had to mention it in scripture in the first place. I think of the Old Testament writers.. who probably knew a lot of their own uncertainty. We follow Jesus for those very reasons! keep me in the loop. RM sayin a prayer for you going forward right now!~….praying mostly for courage for whatever comes. and increased strength to trust him with
