  1. Personally I have trouble identifying evil people cause I go by, every one is okay unless they prove otherwise. I do have a keen sense of fear when I am mistaken but I’m quick to back out if things are fishy. Kids costumes on Halloween don’t scare me. Some adults do…one year at a party a lady dressed as Marie Antoinette had costume and blood red makeup on her neck…looked so real! Want to know the truth? I stopped all of that when I turned my heart and mind over to Jesus. I went to a Christian University and near Halloween there were ads for devils contact lenses. Also animals eyes…my advisor was my age and I told her and asked what she would do if a student looked at her with it, she said, in all honesty, Jane I would pass out!!! Like I said, Halloween isn’t my fave holiday…that’s how I made it through grad school…lol

  2. The primary root of modern Halloween lies in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced “SAH-win”), celebrated over 2,000 years ago in what is now Ireland, the United Kingdom, and northern France. It only became all saints day in the 8th century. But anyway. Yeah I dont think the almighty cares so much that we run around trying to scare each other. If you were to look up the true origins of Christmas I wonder how, many would continue to celebrate it. Personal opinion, we need to be celebrating the living and not the dead.
Sometimes we’re so focused on the next life we forget to live this one to its fullest. Just make your dentist appointment ahead of time.

    1. All good considerations.. I did celebrate lives! in full costume btw! LOL had no idea bout the Irish and I’m an Irish- American.. you know whats really scary is knowing Ireland is on its way to becoming the new Palestine

      1. Yeah huh. The world is so. Screwed up. There’s a few othe countries in line. And even a city in the US. NEW YORK CITY IS IN TROUBLE!!!

  3. Oh my goodness! Just watched this nutshell sermon on YouTube where you had the visuals and the Ghostbusters costume was hilarious! I tried to comment on YouTube, but they don’t even have a comment section anymore. Anyways, I love your take on Halloween, and I was raised in the church, all my life, and went trick-or-treating and absolutely loved it, and it never drew me away from the Lord. I don’t celebrate the evil parts of Halloween but I do like the fun of it. Thanks, Bryan

    1. So glad to hear that from you .. me too.. and they mighta cut the comments on Youtube so you’d post over here on the podcast.. I’ll have to check …. but yer the first ever to see it on YT and comment here Thanks for that..

  4. The reason for low response to this is it’s Halloween! A lot of Christians thumb their noses at it, cause it’s celebrating the dead world and all the grotesque things that go with it. When I was 12 I dressed as a witch, wore black and even made my own my own pointy hat…I wore green eyeshadow on my lips, and everywhere I went people said, Hello Jane. I was mad cause I didn’t fool anyone and my mother for years told that story, which makes me feel dumb. It wasn’t professional makeup but I was pretty proud of it. I think about this every Halloween, which is one subconscious reason I don’t observe it. Sounds silly? Right on Lol

    1. yea, I already got a couple o dead serious offended comments… but Hey my whole clan when Trick r treatin’ our whole lives.. and here we are still serving Jesus fight the devil and laughin at death..

  5. I love ❤️ your individuality Bryan! Not just on this but all the time…reason for your success…especially sermonator on nutshells…you’re very consistent…thank you for being here! And the only Saint I can think of to dress up as is Joan of Arc…lol
