Sounds Jazzy to me. You can do all genres.
Your vocals also fit any style you want to sing.
I’m warming to the idea of bein mellow vocally and letting the song just be good all by itself
and this song would fit nicely on the flip side of my new single Love So Sacred
One of my favorites from SCB…love the jazzy tempo and vocals…sweet! By the way Bryan I put a sparkling ✨️ after my name for joy
or maybe its the sparkler from the fourth o July
This didn’t get airplay but was recorded on Mega 3 and Breaking the Ice…a super smooth song!
I’m tellin the story of this project in the next two episodes of J n M
THIS IS WHERE YOU GUYS SCB BROKE THE ICE FOR ME AND I CAME ABOARD THE SS SWEET COMFORT SOME 47 YEARS AGO ! I COULDN’T QUITE PUT YOU GUYS IN A CATEGORY OF SORTS EITHER ALL I KNEW WAS I LIKED WHAT I WAS HEARING BIG TIME ! TO ME YOU COVERED A CROSS SECTION OF STYLES THAT APPEAL TO ME ! THE LEAD VOCAL GUY HAD A LITTLE SOMTHING DIFFERENT THAT I SAW BACK THEN AND WITH A LITTLE MORE TIME HE WOULD MAKE MORE THAN A LITTLE NOISE IN THE BUSINESS I THOUGHT !I WAS RIGHT.OUR LOCAL RADIO STATION HAD THE SONG YOU JUST PLAYED ON AND FOR ME THAT HAD ME LISTENING TO FIND OUT WHO WAS THIS NEW GROUP I GOTTA HAVE THAT SONG ! THE REST IS HISTORY AS THEY SAY ! WHAT A TALENTED BAND YOU GUYS WERE .
i did a new more detailed look at this project and how I felt about it.. and yes.. it would take time for me to grow into a bigger noise
Smooth jazz is timeless and a powerful emotionally soothing sound no matter what the genre ✨️
Love it, smooth jazz progressions, great vocals.
I’m ready fer smooth … like my peanut butter! LOL
“LOL”
Versatile is the name for it. And this proved you had versatility and talent. From this song, to the rocking Searchin’ for Love, the funky breakin’ the ice… you had it all and it worked. Made me a fan early on.
You had Ryan’s song from the first LP, and Get Ready. So we knew you had it in you! It wasn’t typical CCM which made you extremely cool!
we mighta been a little hard to promote tho with all the varied sounds.. but thanks for the plug!
Yep still have my vinyl copy. Got some scratches over the past 40+ years.
you at least have a copy LOL I found a lone CD unopened yesterday LOL that’s how I posted this song.. didn’t even have the project on my itunes
Need to find the old tapes remaster and re-release!!
the SCB stuff has been bought and sold 3 times… masters can’t be found so far
As always there were lyrics that stood out to me giving me something to chew on throughout the day, very catchy tune.
Hi RG! thanks we still need more love to this day maybe now more than in the past.. never seen such a lack of it
Bryan, AWESOME, always like ALL your music. Keep continuing to make NEW music.. Really wish I could see you again.. But thanks for being a FRIEND!
Hey MC.. thanks for sharing my nutshells too.. not gettin out a lot.. aren’t you in Texas? can’t remember
Such a great song. It’s been fun watching your styles evolve. The funk stuff is fun! “The Contender” was the first song that really got my attention. I’m gonna look for your new single!
I have two new ones coming not posted as of yet.. one called ‘If I Knew” and a song that is in the same vain as “need Your Love Again” its called “Love SO Sacred” if you go to the home page on nutshell sermons.. at the top you’ll see “songs that didn’t make the last record” thats where you will find em eventually and if you scroll down look now for “Do I Say Good Bye” it is on the Reagan Movie Soundtrack
Thanks I’ll check J n M! Love the new sermonator!
I think this didn’t make airplay cause the genre was unclear back when it first came out…what I don’t understand is why people who heard it knew it was you Bryan! Don’t know much about the music business but your voice is gold ✨️
none of us know much about the music biz.. and I think we don’t really wanna know
The visual time-stamped memories that come up when I hear this record is amazing! A young bass player, playing along with SCB tunes and memories of driving my new Firebird with Breaking The Ice blaring on the car stereo. You guys and Phil Keaggy were the main two bands that had the most play time in those fun years…great times!
Hey Jim.. Great to hear from ya.. that gig with you back in the day was a highlight. I take yer not still coverin Foreigner stuff…
Love this!! Is it an oldie goodie or a newey goodie?
Hey yer a sister from another mother… I remember!
