I’m impressed you could spell Sanctimonious lol. I had to look at it 3x to get it right on here haha.
Always remember ..’I can’t fix you, and I wish somebody would’. Haha Boy, don’t we all need fixin’. And forgive me if I have ever been Sanctimonious haha
Yea…LOL I was worried about my spelling.. but the little red squiggly lines weren’t under it so.. Ima leave it! there’s always an edit button! LOL
Lobbed a Scriptural hand-grenade. Hahaha, that’s awesome. The story about the guy yelling reminded me of “Lunatic Friend”
“You see, he’s been accosted by the local
Self-righteous vigilantes
In the name of God, with a Scripture or two.”
Hahaha, great podcast sir, truly.
first thing I said when I posted this one? “Meh… prolly not my best work” LOL.. so does that make me humble? ROFL
Reminds me of those early new born christian days while going to an independent fundamental Baptist Church! Perhaps we we/are all a little sanktomon……oh never mind! 🙂
ROFL Tom yer the second one to complain about spellin ‘that word’! glad yer resonating wit da true stories
Wow, there was some fire and brimstone in that one. When I was young I couldn’t stand bible thumpers. Beat ya over the head with it till you had a headache.
I they do it to draw attention away from their own faults. The holier than thou syndrome… good one today Bryan…
thanks for the comments MK, growin up in church I saw a lot o stuff… made me a tad pragmatic! Glad yer enjoying..
The dragon gets all the good lines, and he has a much larger stage to school his recruits. With sling in hand I’ll reach in my pouch and load a pebble which cannot be broken and sink it deep into the head of the giant, against the giants will. The soldiers behind me shaking in their armor will come around and realize it isn’t me winning the battle but my ammunition. Then later I’ll hide in a cave somewhere and maybe write a song.
this is good writing? yours? wow nice!
I ripped off the storyline but now I have repented. My wife never said anything to me when I lobbed bombs at others.. she just smacked me and gave me the look.
KP LOL , I know better than to sit that close to my wife! ROFL
Unfortunately the influence of people like this was pretty strong in my life. Sometimes sanctimonisity (I doubt that’s a word) wasn’t the root of their words, but it was fear that you/I didn’t know what I was doing and was about to ruin my life. It came across as harsh tho. Sometimes a spirit of love is hard to convey. It has made me back off from confronting issues at all. Anyway, I get your point but maybe from a slightly different angle. Thanks for this one, it made me think (as they all do).
Hi Beth! I prayed specificly for you the other day.. God just tapped me on the shoulder bout prayin for others. And yes I think I don’t speak up now ‘out of love and disapproval’ because I don’t want to come accross self righteous. so glad we share some similar experiences
Wow! Thanks Bryan appreciate the prayers so much…when someone says something like that to me it just makes me realize that Jesus really is thinking about me…enough to “tap someone else’s shoulder”. By the way, the prayers are going out from me on your behalf as well…
Thanks… I need to improve my private prayer life.. not doing it enough!
The Body is full of people who carry the Sword, but have no studied to be swordsman. They flail it wildly, lopping off limbs at every swing, expecting the recipient to merely say, “It’s just a flesh wound.”
