  1. Hey man, you definitely have an interesting life story to tell my friend. It’s always interesting and of course entertaining to actually hear your voice on here talking about these issues. I can’t help but laugh while I’m listening to them. And they do sound sarcastic but it’s real LOL you said that could have been the worst mistake you ever made. Well, I’ve made so many I can’t decide which one was the worst LOL it’s also pretty cool hearing the stores about Riverside, because I was there in that area several times in the ’70s and I had no idea that was going on. I remember looking at Riverside while I was riding my brother’s motorcycle up and down the freeway with my hair blowing in the wind looking cool, until of course I had to comb it when I got off LOL God bless you my friend, keep them coming if you can. They’re very interesting, seriously.

    1. I just talked to SCB drummer Rick Thomson.. He gave me permission to tell more goof ball stories of his personal foibles!
always great to keep in touch witcha

  2. Oh my! So many bands I remember and some I never heard of or never really listened to. Sweet Comfort was one we listened to a lot. And I remember seeing Keith Green at an outdoor concert or something like that. I just remember sitting on the grass and watching and loving listening to him. I love listening to your podcasts and I’m glad that you’re a lunatic friend. How did that even come about? So funny. Keep them coming.

    1. SCB n Kieth Green did concerts together down at the beach.. but we would not get along later as we weren’t excited about him calling concert promoters that paid to bring him in.. “a Brood of Vipers” but I won’t go down that rabbit hole… and thanks for the support this week..

  3. Hey man, you’re right. When we can hear your voice we can hear the sarcasm LOL but it’s funny and entertaining, and you’re honest about it. I remember seeing Riverside riding up and down on the freeway on my brother’s motorcycle, it was all lit up at night. I was riding that bike with my hair blowing in the wind and looking cool, until I had to stop and it took me 30 minutes to comb it LOL. I didn’t know that Jesus movement was going on when I was there and I was there off and on from 70 to 76. I guess I missed that one. Talking about quitting College may have been the worst mistake you ever made, I’ve said before I’ve made so many mistakes I don’t know which one’s the worst LOL still trying to figure that one out LOL God bless you my friend, it’s always entertaining and fun to hear your stories. Keep them coming, you got a lot of friends and fans out here, God bless you and yours

      1. I’m hooked, good stuff. Maybe I just like the stories because I remember some of them!
Enjoy bro, all them chores will be there when you home. We’ll talk soon, blessings!

  4. Andre Crouch wow I still have his cassettes. Yes cassettes like I still have SCB and Holy Roller. I do love how God has preserved your voice. Bless you.

  5. I remember jamming with you guys in Kevin’s garage. ‘Had no idea it was an audition.. Bad fit. Randy was better! But who knows. ‘Dunno if staying in college was the right decision for me. God has been good to me. God willing, it’s going to get gooder real soon. Retired, sort of.

    1. I had no idea Kevin was tryin out guitarists.. I just happened to show up when Randy was there! I do mention yer band in one o deeze.. don’t member which one

      1. Hey Bryan it was great to see you last week at Packinghouse . Thanks for giving me the link to your podcasts. So far my favorite one is “SCB STARTIN CHRISTIAN BAND” — this also is the one where you talk about Whalin’ Jonah, Ron’s band. (Hi Ron!) That section starts at about 4:00 in the track. Whalin’ Jonah was the first band I did sound for, followed by Holy Smoke, and finally SCB in 1980. Great memories.

        1. Hi Mark yes.. so great to reconnect. can’t believe yer daughter was there too.. talkin’ like I might not have remembered you LOL .. lemmie know if I’m missing stuff in the stories.. hard to remember 50 years ago.

  6. I used to tell high school kids interested in music to chase your dreams while you are young before you have obligations like a wife and kids and thus would not allow you to life in a van down by the river(i.e. garage). you can always go back to school…

    1. We didn’t have cell phone back then and we never took selfies.. I do post what I have on my Facebook Page Bryan Edward Duncan when announcing nutshell posts!

  7. Sometimes we’re so wrapped up in what we’re doing we don’t see God’s direction. Always lookin backwards for insight. Or hindsight is 2020. Keith Green. So you wanna go back to Egypt. Well I’m only a couple hundred miles away. Almost got there. LOL

  8. Wow you have quite a history! You have come so far by not giving up. Garage apartments can be fixed up with early 70s decor and you did it well.
