  1. I wish I could put a picture in here. When you said the word performance, I remembered Jon’s book that he just put out called “Silence Your Inner Being, Ditch Performance and Embrace Radical Freedom in Christ.”
I remember when I wanted to serve our church, and I started out in choir, then women’s studies, then youth, then tech, etc. I added more on top of all that and ended up getting burned out. It took me 3 months after I dropped everything, to get back to finding the right fit. And I just did a couple of things and felt so much better because I was putting my whole self into just a couple of things instead of trying to put parts of me into everything.

  2. Ohhhhhhh Yes. Right on. That “purpose filled” as you say “do do” wrecked many good ministries over here and in your country and that man’s son committed suicide. Case in point. I think this is the Rhema of the moment. Wait on God’s leaning and direction and still small voice and the rest follows. These are the days when we so need to hear Him.

  3. Ok so the dodo???? Realy ROFLOL
Faith without works is dead as is works without faith , James said that…so sitting around and waiting for something to happen doesn’t necessarily work either. I’m not one to cheer on do gooders. Seems to me they’re trying to over compensate. But that’s just me…

  4. This is one of the myriad reasons that I hate organized religion.
You know, those wretched denominations in which the law prevails while they try to come off as super spiritual. If ya aren’t a human doing, then you could lose your salvation for every single slip up. Plus, they are often arrogant, and, as a result, they are hyper-judgemental of others . Well, that’s just a bit of my rant about the do-do-do-do religions.
    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

  5. Once again, thank you for the words. I believe we have all been in the same position in our lives. Trying to do things to show we are working for God. It is a hard lesson to learn but it is worth learning. Keep on doing what you are doing!

  6. “Looks a lot like meh”.. sometimes being bizzy and spinnin your wheels wears ya out enough that all you can do is sit and wait upon the Lord.
You played a big part in the bizzy seasons and the waitin seasons. Thank you friend.

  7. This was an excellent reminder on so many levels.
I’m so far behind on these nutshells lol…we were out of town for a couple of weeks…now I’m catching up…

    1. Hi Beth just saw your contribution too! I was going to show you a list of songs to put you in a good mood copy and past this link into your URL bit.ly/bdfeelgood .. just wanna give

  8. Oh my Martha!
I’m so practiced at being a human doing, it’s SO hard for me to rest at His feet and just BE.
I think I need to listen to this one on repeat… maybe daily!
A mentor of mine loved the hymn, “Trust and Obey” and said it was like walking- trust was the left step, obey was the right. I think your “Do, Be, Do, Be. Do” is just your soul-ified version of that (except we always gotta start with the Be to Do).
As always, your thoughts really impact mine. Thanks!

  9. Sounds like watching the video clip of the guy in the post office karaoke with his boom box…that was his 15 minutes of fame haha after 911 was called …don’t think it matters what music it’s!

    1. I wasn’t sure anyone appreciated that clip! I don’t do things like that very often.. but I was laughin the whole time and that James Brown stuff gets me to screaming!

  10. I had a doctor once who said don’t say I’ll try cause it doesn’t mean anything. Say I will or I won’t …that’s hard to do sometimes so I learned to say I’m working on it!…he’s very pleased! He’s a strict believer of the OT…learned alot
