  1. I stumble across an old interview on YouTube where you mention a “guitar trick” so I had to see what the trick was. I found another old clip of you playing it on acoustic. Think I got it: DADGAD, capo 4 and all 1 finger chords. So simple yet so beautiful and lush. That’s the thing about DADGAD, everything sounds good! This is a really nice song, BTW. First time hearing the studio recording. Love it.

  2. And I realized this studio recording is up a half step (in G) – probably no DADGAD or capo. But I do really like the way you do it acoustically.

    1. they mighta been playin with the recording speed on this mix.. I remember too that Blue Skies is a tad out of A440 cause I finally had to play it unplugged at solo concerts.. cause I couldn’t play it with the track underneath

      1. Would you bring a second guitar for that tuning or just retune in front of the audience?

I first learned about it from Phil Keaggy’s Beyond Nature album (County Down is the song). He’s a master of alternate tunings. He says he first learned the tuning when he picked up a guitar at a friend’s house that was in DADGAD and not knowing it played his usual riffs and got all these new unique chords instead.
