we forget that he ‘forgets’ what he forgives! .. I was depressed once about an ongoing failure and I spoke to God about it and he said “what sins?” lol
Reminding us that God forgives our sins is so important because we can get in the 7 loop d loop of guilt and pride and spend most of our lives in it….lol

I would think of this concept of “man is inherently good” in times when we’ve lost power or access to grocery stores after a hurricane. During those times, I’ve seen true human nature come out. Take away basic necessities and man turns into an animal. (Sorry to be so dramatic.) It’s just a silly argument for people to make.
