Wow, today’s was extra good Bryan. Going through Joy Is A Singable Thing would have been terrific enough, but the added story of getting your debt paid AND the incredible lyrics your penned for Cassie’s affliction are what made this one extra special. Poetic, truthful and thoughtful. Your fist to pen lyrics are truly a gift from God. Thanks for all you do Bryan!
thanks RC I was a little nervous.. being this direct at the end … but hey if I can’t speak to the moments I’m in.. I become “Sounding Brass and tinkling cymbols” this week was so ful of contradiction of feelings had to point out my joy and my heartache at the same time thanks for the endorsement
Beautiful image of you and your sweetheart.
thanks Scarr.. suffering brings a different perspective on Love..
Bry,
First off… you had me laughing as usual! “Dr Love Joy” for some reason I pictured Austin Powers “Dr Evil” lol.
I love that God made a way financially for you regarding dental work. Like your wife, I understand the constant prayer, faith and joy also in others getting their prayers answered while I have waited years for healing of scoliosis. When I went through breast cancer, I had a pastor that told me it was due to my sin. What?? No! The church can do harm. But my faith and trust is in Jesus. Sometimes I wonder if like Paul, the thorn in my side is the scoliosis? Nonetheless, as he learned that the joy of the Lord whist being imprisoned in a hole in the ground was attainable due to Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. I am encouraged and keep moving forward and upward, as I’m sure your wife does.
Thank you for your gifts, your humor and these nutshell sermons. They mean a lot to me. We have a lot in common from being raised in Holy Ghost church, music, and a lot of hardship and difficulties in life ( wilderness experiences) to our faith and love of Jesus. I appreciate you.
God bless you.
wow you’ve been thru the shredder sounds like.. Russ Taff has Scoliosis too.. that’s why I was on the tour with Steve and him. in case he couldn’t make it to the end of a set.. only happened once in 9 concerts! and so many of my friends have had breast cancer I know at least five other woment just last year. anyway I might have to knit you a special pillow for the back row with me with yer name on it!
Love this song and your story about singing about joy
Don’t be writing lyrics while driving lol
LOL I write in my mind first .. always have.. Whistlin in the Dark started on Magnolia ave.
I’m was so overwhelmed with this Nutshell Sermon. I was coming home from work listening to this on my cell phone. I didn’t know what to do first–scream, come to a grinding halt or cry. This is incredible news!! This just made my whole week and weekend. The news about your funding for your teeth just blew me away. This was JOY to me hearing that you got help from different people and agencies to take care of this unbelievable, costly surgery (I was bumfuzzled to hear the cost but it really didn’t shock me). This could not have happened to a more deserving person! Hear me when I say that if I were just loaded with money and could use it for anything & everything, your surgery would have been paid for by me and I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. I mean that sincerely. I am so happy for you and Cassie! I thought of a song that my mother used to sing with the children in our church called the “Johnny Appleseed” song. Don’t know if you’ve ever heard it but the first verse is: “Oh, the Lord is good to me. And so I thank the Lord. For giving me the things I need: the sun and the rain and the apple seed; The Lord is good to me.” Amen and a big “Woo-hoo” from the back row.
thanks P C … if I was never needy.. I’d never know those who loved me! its been hard to admit.. btw I never asked anyone for help, when the friend money started coming in from my regular crew of “Gideons Leftovers” men I talk to all the time.. I did apply to GMA which I was sure would go nowhere.. it was my best attempt at asking for help.. and by the way #2 I don’t assess my friends like you by whether they can ‘afford’ to! LOL yer in! I appreciate you comments always
WHAT A WONDERFUL PODCAST THIS WAS HERE B ! THE MORE I HEAR THEM THE MORE I’M UNDERSTANDING THEM IN A WHOLE NOTHER WAY. IT MUST BE I’M BECOMING FLUENT IN NUTSHELLIAN ! BE THAT AS IT MAY YOUR LYRICS AND HOW THEY EXPRESS YOUR EXPLORATION FOR THE SOMETIME ELUSIVE JOY AND THE HIGHS AND LOWS ON THE JOURNEY IS THOUGHT PROVOKING TO SAY THE LEAST. SUPER HAPPY FOR YOUR DEBT RELIEF SITUATION THAT YOU MIGHT NOT SAW IT HAPPINING THE WAY IT DID. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY TO THAT IS (WON’T HE DO IT )! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE BEAUTIFUL WORDS YOU SAID ABOUT YOUR WIFE CASSIE IT TOUCH MY HEART. IT PUTS IN PERSPECTIVE WHATS REALLY IMPORTANT AND THAT EVERYTHING SINGLE THING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE RIGHT , FIXED OR PERFECT TO HAVE THAT “JOY “!GOD HAS HIS WAY TO GET IT TO US SOMETIMES EVEN WITHOUT OUR HELP !
you CJ are the founder of the nutshellian group! LOL it now has a following of its own ROFL
Just heard this episode driving home from the holiday weekend. I almost had to pull over to let it soak in how you being faithful in seemingly small things like supporting the Taff/Taylor shows comes back around with Russ reaching out with unexpected help. That’s God’s provision and big heap of blessings at the same time. See you in the back row… #thatsanutshellsermon
Ray ROUNDS!!! haven’t seen yer name on the page fer a while glad yer listenin tho… thanks for the lift!
Praise God for blessing you and Cassie with means to finish your dental projects and her slow step by step recovery from her affliction. All I can say is I’m so happy both of you didn’t give up! And you’ll stay till the end. Amen
thanks Jane E
Bryan, thanks for being open and transparent. That’s the good stuff that reaches to the heart like nothing else. What a gift to be on the receiving end here on the back row! You are a blessing in more ways than you know.
I’d be more transparent more often if I knew what was happening in the middle of it.. LOL
Oh Bryan…that was just so beautiful! It’s apparent how strong Cassie is and how full of faith. It’s also apparent how God is using her to mold you. All those beautiful insights you both would not have had if there had not been trials and afflictions. Keep sharing these things ….we need to hear them too.
not terribly happy about be ‘educated’ in such a way tho LOL
