This song has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs. Thank you again for doing these Nutshell Sermons. Keep up the great work!
thanks RR… means a lot to me too… tryin to stay productive in my fourth quarter of life.. I’ll be 71 next month!. thanks for being here with me still…
Heh Bryan, please keep on unpacking & unwrapping your Christmas gifts for us with a voice, a chime, a chant sublime, of peace on earth, good will to men.
I heard the bells on Christmas Day by that Longfellow is one of my favourites too, especially verses 4 & 5. Except I’m usually late for the bell instead of being saved by the bell or the bell is tolling for me.
My favourite Christmas CD (yep I’m old) is “A Very Veggie Christmas”. Even though we got it 25-years ago when the kids were little, I still look all over the house every Christmas for that compact disc so I can laugh at the antics of Larry and the French Peas. How great our joy! Joy, joy, joy! Praise we the Lord in Heaven on High!

“Feliz Navidad”, which means “Merry Christmas” in Spanish. It also has some words which mean “I hope you have a prosperous year and happiness.”
I sing a Christmas song sometimes in Spanish .. that sounds like “One Ton Tomato” I ate a One Tone Tomata .. LOL
This project is a Christmas staple at the Felts household. Has been since its debut. Love it!
now I know why peeps to Christmas projects.. often get airplay decades later if you do it right!
Really love this album, beautifully produced, worth all the expense.
Not sure if we ever paid it off though! LOL
Fair enough, but the legacy is huge and I am sure it will ultimately bear good fruit.
I believe that ultimately it will bear good fruit.
Was it as a promo for this album, that you were on a Christmas TV special with Sandi Patty? I have a faint memory of watching that, with an obviously staged scene of carolers showing up, and you saying, “And let’s pretend we didn’t know they were coming!”
Christmas is Jesus was one of my dad’s all time favorite albums. He died 10 years ago last week. He loved music in general, and he had some speakers set up in his living room that you could hear out in the street. He always blasted this album, not just at Christmas time, but periodically throughout the year or two. I’m sure all of our neighbors heard it.
My dad’s been gone about that long too.. but he likely influenced my choices of songs as he was the one leading the Christmas Carols when I was a little kid! .. I did quite a few Christmas shows on t.v. with Amy Grant too… I toured this record for five years going forward.. using local big church choirs in the bigger cities.
Wow. Love to see this happening again, you know I am praying for you.
usually every thursday..

What a great find to cover Form of Man. surprised no one else does it. such a great tune and message. did Amy look better in person than the cardboard version? I’m sure Vince thinks so. how lucky has he been to be in the Eagles. what a talent. And speaking of Mr Foo fighter…Dave is so cool. too cool to be a drummer. that’s why he was promoted to guitar playing front man
Billy Batstone was a worship leader around the Calvery Chapels in So.Cal.. so not sure even how Dan heard that either
Christmas Is Jesus is my hubs favorite and Form of Man is mine. Nobody does Grown Up List as well as you. My favorite Christmas album overall.
I still don’t mind doin Grown UP List.. not happy about my verses on my song or the arrangement on Billy Batstones song.. too much area where nothin much happens.. it sounds good on the record but “Live” I never quite know what to do in the middle..
I genuinely thought that Amy copied YOUR version of Grown Up Christmas List! Whoops
On an unrelated note, I listen to your Christmas music throughout the year.
Hi Heather thanks for commenting. I too was surprised to find out that Amy wrote the lyrics in my favorite verse of that song.
