  1. Great message. Yes, you are right about the word “naughty.” It really meant wicked up to around the 1950s, and as you say, overuse diminished it. Early last century, in the fading of the goldrush in northern Queensland, the behaviour of the people in the town of Ravenswood was so corrupt that an Anglican minister wrote a large testimony to this, now on a plaque in the town, labelling the people as “naughty,” which they were. He found them incorrigible and resigned. The locals often refer to this term.
