      1. That is a beautiful duet, as for you sounding alike, I can hear you in him for sure but I think he’s got his own vibe too.

  1. Oh that sent chills – such a loving tribute- and the kid can sing – must have been so great doing this together- as a father I hear ya man !

  2. Yes, he does! But its like listening to the difference between John Lennon and Julian Lennon. If you listen to Julian’s song, “Change,” you cant help but hear how much he sounds like his father.

    1. Hi Tam.. nice to hear from ya… thing is, he sounds different too when he’s singin his own songs. this song is not in his or my style really as I was writing for the Imperials thinking of big harmony stack.. but the lyrics are GOLD

    1. my kids are beyond kids at this point.. but I’m glad I’m made a memories with them that will last! thanks C. S. and for stoppin in to comment, welcome to my back row believers page

  3. That was great!!! Y’all sound similar. My daughter and I have written a couple of songs together, and we sing it in a service one night when I was preaching. She played the piano and we sang it together. That was a memory, great memory!!

  4. This is a great song, for Father’s day and any day for a tribute to dad and a loving relationship ❤️. It’s amazing that this didn’t make airplay! They’re always looking for celebratory things like songs for big occasions. You should tell your manager and see if he can market this for Father’s day! A lot of dads don’t know why it’s a holiday cause their job is do the best they can and they are! If there’s an official song, it would be easier to celebrate and appreciate ALL they do for us. But wait a minute, I’m a girl, not a son! It’s just a thought…lol

    1. this song was written long after my national recording contract was over.. Conversations project was crowd funded no real distribution and radio was deteriorating long before

  5. Wow! What was I thinking during my last comment? At the I said the Duet song wasn’t appropriate for me during Father’s day cause I’m a girl…what…? I used to write poetry printed on decorated letterhead and send him gifts like sports clothes from his Alma matter and even sent plants flowers and his favorite candy, chocolate covered cherries ! Every year I ordered a deluxe fruitcake at Christmas. I tried so very hard to let him know how much he meant to me…in the end after going through my medical problems and his dementia I had to take a step back. I couldn’t afford to focus on the possibility of making my own rehab program go down a wrong path, so I just told him our lives were changing and let hospice care. He did the best he could.. and I did the same. My memory now is slowly getting over his life and focusing on just the positive. I have an idea from my life friend from my writers group…write a letter and put it in a card and keep it in a box. I can write the poem this weekend and save in my documents in the cloud. Oh and I can do one for my heavenly father, God! Thank you Bryan for stirring up my creative projects my special friend ! And happy Father’s day to you!!!

  6. Wow Bryan, you mean my first comment was okay? I had the feeling others thought it was an ungrateful….attitude! Thank you thank you Bryan for Standing up for me! You supported me last nutshell! You’re so comforting and compassionate! Have a Great day today my special friend !

  7. There are moments in this song where Devin sounds just like you, mostly in his higher range, but he has a beautiful voice in his own right. In my opinion, there is no harmony quite as beautiful as when two family members sing together. Goose bumps for sure.

    1. yes he does have a preference at least in the past of a younger Gen X kind of music so this was a challenge to his phrasing and also the way I place lyrics .. I had to made a few adjustments to make it fit his cadence a little better.
