The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. INCARNATION! God passed by Moses and declared Himself – words. It’s like texting somebody or having an online relationship – it’s all words on a screen or a page, but until we can see Him, touch Him and handle Him, God is a concept. We need an incarnation! We need to look on the face of God and live. That’s why Jesus came. Even in serving others, God comes in the flesh in those people bearing their burdens – and if we can see Jesus in those faces of need, we can live through our acts of mitzvot – kindness.
This is an interesting Nutshell to ponder. If we were somehow able to reach out to those who have gone before us then they could tell us for sure. More than anything I wish I could FaceTime my mom up there. She could tell me in full detail. She was a former hairdresser and I’m thinking she’s up there giving God a trim here and there to keep his “Full Glory” shining. LOL. One day we’ll see for ourselves. Until then, I’m pleased to have great company on the back row, Bryan D.
This is a pondered thought…when I hear or think of God, He is quiet, soft and gentle. His appearance is soft white backlighted edges amidst a creamy face and smile with snow white hair with long conditioned curls. His eyes are like sparkling topaz that twinkle as He speaks. Oh, and no wrinkles though He seems very mature. The truth? I haven’t the foggyest…just a feeling of a man who created the world and us. Jesus is His son, so the Father’s attributes may differ a little …thanks for this subject today Bryan, it’s made me think and sparked my creativity…lol
Dug this conversation. For the last season and into this new season, the revelation of Papa God as my truest Friend has been finding it’s place in my heart of hearts. A friend being one who shares the secrets of that one’s heart with the one they call their friend. Had never thought of God like that. But Papa God, Jesus and Holy Spirit……what’s more, friends speak face to face. God called Moses His friend and in Exodus33:11 it says that the LORD spoke to Moses Face to face, as a man speaks to his friend (ESV). Have been sitting here with Holy Spirit alone together in this season, with a longing awakening within to keep looking His way and discover the awe and wonder of friendship together and all that encompasses. So this podcast added fuel to the fire of that longing for friendship with God if you get the drift…….Thanks Mr D…keep putting your musings out there. Some good seeds being sown that will reap a good harvest.
I guess I’m not the only one who thinks about seeing God face to face one day. I forgot about the part that says I wouldn’t even be able to survive in his presence due to his glory. Ironically, this message leaves me feeling a little relieved. If he is so much bigger and so much greater than I am, maybe I can stop working so hard to please him. After all, he can see me, and I can’t see him. He already knows what I’m like and I’m sure he won’t be too shocked to see me one day, and I’m sure he expects us to be a little terrified, in a good way.
