When I left the Catholic Church when in my late 30s I wanted to join a Bible believing fellowship. My cousin became Baptist as was his wife. After being an outreach member of Pentecostal I attended a Baptist University for 7 years and now a Baptist church outreach church through a Baptist church with rotating pastors for people over 50. I’ve never been so happy! One of them remarked she couldn’t believe I was Catholic cause I knew all the songs ! I read music….followed along. One thing I was always careful of was not joining a cult or friendship worship group cause they weren’t ordained for leadership. I love nutshells and other devotional podcasts cause they’re pertinent to stages of my life and there’s encouragement which I find so real and genuine. You’re honest Bryan and put yourself out there to give us encouragement we need. You’re. not a minister You’re music artist. And that puts you above cause you are an EXCELLENT ARTIST AND WRITER. I’m not looking for a church. I love good music
As always I enjoy listening to your nutshell sermons. They are a breath of fresh air to me. I wasn’t able to catch the SCB podcast live last night with Rey Parra but I listened to it later. That was a hoot! I was cracking up. Oh, the wonders of technology. LOL. Keep up the good work!
Brilliant comment. What an inner wrestle we often experience with loving the ones who vigorously oppose us from time to time. It’s like being jammed tight between a rock and a hard place. Got me pondering –
leaning in with a listening inner ear. “Son, but I am also with you in what you are experiencing here. You in Me, I in you. Joined together, doing life together. What you are feeling, I am too, yet much more deeply. Keep surrendered into My rest with Me. My power is carrying you with Me in this.”
Trust this helps…..
kind encouragement PS.. I think too I’m weary of the Christian 101 teaching about “loving your neighbor” its not the whole story and much is often mistaken for love…
