  1. Well it looks like I’m your first comment for the night. And this story wasn’t sad at all LOL in fact I think it’s very entertaining to hear that y’all were in another part of the bus and nobody was driving it LOL do you realize that could be a scene in the movie Somewhere?? That’s absolutely hilarious. So you survived a plane crash and landed in the marsh. And then you go to the back of the bus and nobody’s driving it, OMG I think I try to sell that story somewhere. Later my friend God bless you night

  2. Breaker, breaker, good buddy!
Hey Screaming Machine, what’s your 20?
    Flyin’ Mayan here. Come back!

You really did have adventurous didn’t you? I miss my CB radio. Good thing you have that. You really did have adventurous didn’t you? Making your guardian angels work overtime.

  3. Partial to mustard, myself. Love the biblical alegory too, worth contemplating as you consume that hotdog.
Another intriguing life story. Good to hear you encountered some “real folk.”

  4. You said that you didn’t see the fruits of your efforts. But here I am. Ya’ll had a serious impact on my life. From getting me back on the straight amd narrow, to the song I used to propose to my wife of almost 30yrs. Remember the Imperials, cast your bread upon the water. That’s all you can do.. as for the bus: water a lemon.

  5. Keep your stories of the band, solo, etc. coming! It’s hard to believe anyone going through the “Winter of their discontent” until they talk about it. The road is certainly filled with ups and downs

  6. comedy gold in this here episode.
Do you ever wonder how much easier it would’ve been to just have a contract that requires church to provide a PA and then just rent instruments. seems like you could flown cheaper than driving the bus. times were different for sure. I remember taking a PA to every show back in the mid to late 80s. Happy you have shared scb history and looking forward to the next chapter

    1. yea, lot o things bout travel that weren’t thought of.. n the plane crash made that a little less interesting. in my solo career to now.. is send the charts to the local band travel by air a day early .. run the set, play the set, go home!

  7. Loverboy’s “Workin for the Weekend” must’ve been playing during that long desolate stretch of hiway to keep you going. MaKes me wonder if “Turn me loose” was planting seeds of doubt. “I gotta do it my way or nothing at all” thankful you chose God’s way…

  8. I can remember many times on the road going through remote country without a cell phone because there weren’t any. A few of those times we broke down in the middle of nowhere. God always provided a way, even before I had committed to Him. And sometimes the circumstances were harrowing. Once we went through South Pass WY Jan 1st in a blizzard with high wind. My husband at the time told me if I prayed I’d better do it now. We made it. Praise God.

  9. Wow you all led an awesome activity filled life with ups and downs and an amazing answer for everything…very brave men on the road! It’s no wonder you didn’t write many songs, cause you were to busy using your creative gifts and skills to get from one place to another in tact. That as well as performing the new life Christian music to a new audience most of the time…even still doing it now!

  10. Bryan – love these stories from behind the wheel and on the road and behind the scenes. Your life as an early CCM artist and your truth and vulnerability about it are very interesting to me.
Thank you for sharing these stories

  11. Lotta down time like now? Lol looks like mini me is snug in for a long nap after performing for the wwhhooolll world ! Like parading around the house singing and playing his spanking new accordion he got for Christmas! Well Bryan it’s almost tadadum Christmas in July…merchants are doing the 4th along with a barrage of eye opening goodies and eye candy Bryan!!! Hope you’re careful on your bike too and don’t forget to bring your helmet…
