Love the Neho Soul albums. The direction was, well , you say appeasement, but , as you say, 2 dimensional, really it was just hard sell banality and really a spirit I did not recognise. Now, several documentaries later, court cases, and in my country, a Royal Commission into institutional, multigenerational child abuse, the truth is out. These were anthems for money and worse than corruption. Best to be on the right side of history.
I was being kind.. using the appeasement comment.. heard a great quip in a tv show last night .. “I appreciate your impersonation of honesty” LOL
