  1. Looks like God knew what he was doing when he brought you and Bob Carlisle together. This is a great story. And it is sad how people tend to use looks as a way to justify what they’re trying to do. Kind of a slap in the face when he made a hit and they’re just sitting there looking at him and thinking, hmm, maybe we missed something. I think it’s great that you guys have had such a long friendship and have been able to collaborate together on things.
I love the line about the third monkey trying to climb on the ark. You come up with so many lines like that. That’s funny.
I’m just glad you’re still around to be able to do things with writing again. Kind of like a second wind in your life.
We’ve been traveling around and doing things and taking care of family, so I’m catching up again here on nutshell sermons. Always gives me something to listen to. And we actually listen to some on the road.

  2. Great story. Ironic how record companies want people to be a certain way to be accepted as an artist…then boom! A song hits and thr question is “How do you like me now?” Haha
So cool that you both are still friends.
Some day I hope to write as good as you.

  3. Glad to hear you got your enthusiasm back. I think we said something about genres be a bit problematic…

  5. You and Bob C make a great team…not only are your vocals in a class of their own, but your music and ideas are in perfect balance . .My fav is at the Flamingo, the Self Righteous Brothers…can’t get enough…had It on all night…I can tell your voices apart.. super cool!

  6. Bryan – when I listen to these, I have to prepare. As an avid multi-tasker, I have to put away anything that might distract me from listening to you since you talk SO FAST! LOL! I love all the behind-the-scenes incidents you share, blended with the unchanging word of God.

I’ve followed your music since the early 80’s and I’ve never had a playlist that didn’t have one or more of your songs on it. Something in the lyrics always speaks to me – even if I know the lyrics by heart. Like one day, I’ll be on my hands and knees, scrubbing the baseboard with your music playing and God will use a line from one of your songs to slap me across the face, speaking to me like it’s the first time I’ve heard it. It’s amazing.

Thank you for your heart and all you do.

  7. a million records over 14 albums. would love to see the numbers per album. I can’t tell you how great it is to hear you are actively writing. the creative process is good for the soul of those who have it in them to create. great stuff!

  8. Okay, so for your movie title on that picture how about this, I got a whole intro before the title. It goes like this: They came into town that day, armed with the just The Word of God in their hearts and His Praises on their lips…And that town will never be the same again…they are….The Revelators….. Okay, so it’s kind of hokey… You and Bob Carlisle, what a vocal combination. When my Mom passed away in 2001, I gave the Eulogy, I’m the youngest in my immediate family, that was a hard day. But I also made things more difficult on myself, by trying to sing one of Bob Carlisle’s songs from his self titled Album. It was a song called “Going Home”, a cappella. It was the hardest thing I had ever done, but Mom deserved the effort. Don’t think I did it justice, especially since I don’t have a Bob Carlisle or Bryan Duncan voice, I’m kind of a hit or miss baritone by nature. At one time or another I have had all the albums of the Sweet Comfort Band and The Allies, and quite a few of the solo projects. Still some of my favorite music. Once again, thank you Brother and God Bless…
