I thought I was the only one wanting to know “what’s on the agenda?” Glad to know I’ve got company, BD. And I’m also there standing out in the wilderness with Moses. Absolutely! I have to remind myself—I’m NOT in charge and maybe I’m not supposed to know the answers. Still on the back row…Amen!
Wow, do you think God isn’t listening and doesn’t answer or that His answer isn’t for another reason…like it isn’t necessary, or you can do it on your own? That’s what I assume when He doesn’t respond, or I think He’s not. If it’s really imminent, I say the shortest prayer, God Help!!! I’ll know right away His decision…
I can assume because lately my prayers have been for things I don’t really want or want to happen…things are better than I think and in this case I thank God for NOT answering them per se! Lol
Almost as old as Moses lol how old was he again? Things have gotten much simpler for me over the years. This is partly due to something I read from “My Utmost” having to do with attachments. I have come to the conclusion God doesn’t move, or maybe can’t move, in the things we are too attached to. Perhaps He is waiting till I get to the point where I really don’t care any more about certain things, in a good way, as in casting all my cares on Him and leaving them there. I guess the things I care too much about are the things I’m bound to mess up because I have too much of my own stake in the results. Charles Stanley, who also studied Oswald C., used to say “trust God and leave the consequences to Him.” And btw, the people who had the biggest influence on me had no idea about it. I’m thinking if we can manage to lay down every idol, all that is left is a life ready to do whatever God asks and not care one way or the other about it.
guessing it’s because yer too attached is a cul de sac too I believe.. at least sometimes.. I grew up assuming that if I loved anything too much God would require my sacrifice of it.. not sure thats always the transition point either.. God never does things the same way.. I think he desires our interaction the most.. to know him.. part of that is to see if he has other things in mind.. besides me guessing
I appreciate your difference in viewpoint. Maybe that’s on the next level for me. Maybe learning not to care is the easy way out? I will have to give it some thought.
Great to hear your voice as I hear it almost daily when I place one or many of your songs in the morning at work. Thanks Brian I’ll be listening to you you’re not still sermons now that I know they’re here.
thanks steve and maybe the best way I’ve heard that… fired from my early jobs in H.S , kicked outta Bible College, and so forth.. into my old age.. LOL
hey I’ll send to yer email addy .. yer first request ended up in the spam file but yesterday they had some breakdowns accross the board.. the songs will come mostly 2 songs at a time. via yer addy
