I loved to color but never got it on the fridge…I brought it home and both my parents saw it and commented how good it was and that was enough for me…they always said good things…my mom taught art in kindergarten !
Too bad we can’t get a redo on some of those stages. “If I knew then what I know now” comes to mind. What I’d do different study harder, waste less time on trivial stuff. “Life is a stage”. A lot of them actually. God grant me wisdom….
What a great line “…the stage that were on is the stage that were in.” It’s certainly an odd feeling when moving to a new stage, especially at our age.
I loved that line about the stage and this one as well – God opposes the proud and gives Grace to the humble. And now I know how he does that becauseā¦
Humble comes easy when you add to your knowledge and discover your ignorance !
Thanks Casey, good to see you on here…also twitter/x yesterday. most flattering thing anyone’s said to me in a while CR! thanks for that.. I’m surprised too that things come out that I wasn’t even planning on.. I had this whole thing recorded before I knew what the nutshell was “the stage that yer on is just a stage that your in” this is why I write in the first place.. helps my find myself
I kept so much from my girls. I put them in a box for each year of school. They were up in the rafters in the garage. I finally decided to let them go through their boxes and keep anything they wanted. I can’t remember what grade they were in, but six or eight boxes were whittled down to one. I didn’t even want to look because I’m sure there were things that I would have liked to have kept. It wasn’t only their artwork, but stories and essays and other stuff. My oldest had a picture of her friend who had been killed in a car accident and she kept all her stuff. They were only 7 years old then. Sorry. That was a downer. I still have some things of mine, but I’m whiddling those away.
It is hard to start over at my age. What I’m going to be doing is cleaning out my craft closet and see if there’s something there that I can start again, which will help clean up that closet.
nice of you to share.. I hated throwin out so much of what my dad kept of his memories.. disillusioning really to see how we leave everything at some point

honestly we didn’t put pics on the refrigerator when I was a kid… but then my mom was a critic of the worst kind too
