  1. i miss my mom too all the fun and stuff we used to do go out to eat watching movies…. happy moms day bryan and cassie hope its a good one

  2. She’s been gone over 25 years now
…she was the one person who knew what I needed to know. She read the Bible to me when I was 2! I learned the piano…went to kindergarten, nursery school, girl scouts, summer camp…and she was always there! She volunteered at school and scouts and always soft when I was hurting. She stopped drinking when I quit smoking and always encouraged me on saying I haven’t had a drink! It worked for her and me…29 years. She never drank again and became sweet. She was a lovely lady and taught me how to dress. Always fashionable but not ultimately expensive though we shopped in the finest stores. I learned art and went to the museum, later to volunteer and 19 years. She was in the Junior League, girl scout leader, nursery school volunteer and all around popular lady. She was the wise one, who taught me what I needed to know. She never smiled in pictures, but I captured her in bright eyes and rosy smile. I made a small album of these that got lost in one of my many moves. So sad but pretty for the person who has it!…and…one thing she said when I was growing up was I could change religions if I wanted. .. make sure it’s the right one! Ode to Mom

  3. Hey man,,,that touched me. I remember her warning me about a serious relationship I was getting into, as it turns out she was right. And boy did I pay for it, and so did the woman. When my mother passed, it was unexpected totally, I was out of town and did not get to say goodbye. In fact, her birthday is this month. She was 76. She raised me in church, and like you, I cut my teeth on the Pentecostal church pews.

  4. I reached out on your Facebook page trying to find a copy of the digital album Joyride. Thanks for offering to send me some digital copies

  5. I lost my mother in 2023. We used to talk every day to one another. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and miss her terribly. She was the foundation that made me who I am today. Her never-ending love for me from day one, her strength and resilience through everything she had to deal with in life and her life-long faithfulness to Jesus Christ. Bryan, I enjoyed seeing the photo of you and your mom. Thanks for sharing. Happy Mother’s Day to Cassie and to all mothers who are also “Nutshellians” on the back row.

  6. B,I can see how that would touch a heart in the story you told about the mothers letter to her daughter ! We can often miss sometimes the simplest things that a mother might want from her children while at the same time trying to get or do some big thing that we think mothers want ! It’s been 4 years for me this year not having Mama on this day and I do indeed miss the things we use to do on this day . It is nice though to see others treat their mothers like the queens they are and spend treasured time with them ! I know at times we all could have added a grey hair or two on our mothers head but I believe every child that truly love their mothers gains great appreciation of all they have truly done for them and it gives them great joy to do all they can to show that love they have for them especially on the celebrated day called Mothers day !

  7. ❤️ this is a great Nutshells Sermon …
I thought of Wayne Watson’s song
” In Those Eyes ” … a great song honoring his mother ..
    Thanks Bryan

      1. I wouldn’t have guessed that from the lyric…frankly I don’t listen to it often because I always cry…:(

        1. LOL I remember first time I sang the song impromptu just after writing it.. I was in Indianna and when I got to the second line ‘she sang my first song to me… ‘ audience just fell out.. turned out there was 4 or 5 people who’d lost there mothers in that month alone
