No one in Jesus Music in the 1970’s would influence the style of my Sweet Comfort Band more than Bill Sprouse and The Road Home. See if you can hear my taste in music here

His voice is very similar to yours. Amazing
he had a tad more grit in his voice but yea I loved his phrasing immediately
Excellent. Too bad he died so young. Obesity is in the DNA I think, like a curse. Yes I can hear his influence in your music alrighty!!!
interesting about DNA ? although my middle brother weighs about 450 lbs and home bound. none of the rest of us are
That 70s sound is ageless.
Hey JLR! thanks for sounding off! sure miss the days when music didn’t go where you expected. thanks for listening
Yep,thats my era also!!!
I like the entire sound! The arrangement reminded me of Chicago Transit Authority in the early days! I definitely see how you would have dug this guy. I went and checked out as many other songs of his that I could find. Thanks for sharing! How incredibly sad that he died so young, and sad too that you never had a chance to do music with him! That would have been sweeeet!
Hi Thanks for commenting Donna Berryhill! LOL .. hard to imagine where he woulda gone before heaven
I like your(SCB) style much better. Can hear the influence.
I loved his tone and phrasing and song writing gotta remember we were following stuff that was out in the 1970s of course he kinda went country after 72.
Absolutely loved this song‼️ Love SCB as well
I was most impressed with his vocal tone.. and then there’s that unbelievable horn section! thanks for comment to Barry means a lot that this means something to you in the way of encouragement
Kinda like the song “Gone Country” Alan Jackson. One of my favorites
country popularity makes me feel like a vagabond LOL
Yep. I can see why!!
Wow!
looks like both of yer posts posted! there ya go!
Love it.
thanks for your comment CG! glad yer enjoyin my life in a nutshell
That song seems truly timeless… thanks for sharing!
thanks for commenting TS I’m aware its not like todays music.. but it is surely more inspired than I have been in years
That was fun to listen to. It is sad that he was gone at 26? I was one year married at that age. That would have been fun if you two could have done something together. And the music of today, I don’t even know what it is. I’ve been listening to more Sports than music these days. I guess that’s kind of sad in itself.
I think we looked harder for music we liked back in the day but then they did give us a wide assortment to choose from.. now.. not so much
Thank you for sharing Bill’s talent. He was incredible, vocals, arrangement and songwriting. Def see how he inspired you. So sad he died so young and you didn’t have a chance to play with him in earth . But you will one day. Thats how faithful God is. Doing abundantly more then we could ask or think. God bless.
glad you like Bill’s stuff. I never thought till I started tellin my story, about posting other peoples songs on here .. but especially people who didn’t get heard, I wanted to let my friends hear it
I miss horn arrangements like that. Would love to hear you do it.
trouble with adding horns is that ‘Live’ it doubles the size of the band and the expense. and if you play without em on a song made for horns it sounds kind of empty. I started doing this podcast because I couldn’t raise the money to even do one more song in the current economy
